Bangalow Native Bush Food Tour
- Varighet: 90 Minutter (ca.)
- Lokasjon: Bangalow, NSW
- Produktkode: BBTT
Come explore native bush foods on 1.5 hour tour with Bundjalung woman Delta Kay. On this tour, guests are guided along the stunning Byron Creek, located at Piccabeen Park. Once an old grazing land, thankfully the area has been regenerated with hundreds of native plant species that are really important to Bundjalung people.
During the tour, Delta will point out a variety of these edible native food plants, as well as plants used for natural medicine, jewellery, fibre, tools and weapons. She will also share local Aboriginal history and traditional stories that have been passed down to her from her ancestors.
There are opportunities to learn some Bundjalung language and we are sometimes lucky to see Binging the river turtle or Junbung the platypus. At the end of each tour, guests enjoy tasting a variety of delicious native foods and have nice cup of bush tea and a biscuit.
