The Jarjum School Program is delivered by Bundjalung woman Delta Kay and caters for students in pre, primary and high school (from 4 to18 years of age). 

Location 

The program is available at either Bangalow Parklands, Walgun (Cape Byron), Broken Head or in Mullumbimby. 

Duration

  • Preschool students - 50 mins
  • ES1 students - 1 hour
  • Stage 1 to 3 - 1 hour 15 mins
  • Stage 4 - 6 - 1 hour 30 mins

Group Sizes

The maximum group size is 36 Students.

If you have more than 36 students participating on a given day, then they will need to be split into smaller groups and multiple sessions with Delta will need to be arranged. We are happy to suggest some teacher led activities for the other groups that are not with Delta. These could be traditional Indigenous games, sketching significant Aboriginal places, colouirng native animals, exploring native foods, reading Aboriginal texts, creating sand sculptures, etc. 

If you have more than 85 students participating on a given day, then we will ty to arrange a second local Aboriginal group leader.

What to bring

  • Covered shoes

  • Water bottle

  • Sun protective clothing

  • Wet weather clothing and/or an umbrella (in the case of light or patchy rain)
  • First Aid Kit, including any personal medications.

All locations have access to drinking water and public toilets

Price

  • $15 per student (Minimum price $330)

  • $13 per student when there’s more than 65 students particpating on a given day

  • $11 per student when there’s more than 85 students participating on a given day
